Biography

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Edin Vélez studied painting at the University of Puerto Rico and at the School of Fine Arts of the Institute for Puerto Rican Culture.

In 1970, inspired by the writings of Marshall McLuhan, Edin moved to New York in order to explore the possibilities of video as an art form and became one of the pioneer artists of the medium.

Since then, he has produced award winning video works, artists books, digital prints, and video installations.
